Called up from the Lions.
Sam Taylor has come through the Limerick Lions, the club's youth system and the road into the Eagles. He played in the men's development league with the group of young players working towards the Super League programme. In October 2026 he was called up to the Eagles squad for the season, and he wears number 8.
Ask anyone at the Lions about Sam and the same word comes back: he works. He is known around the club as one of the hardest-working young players, first in and last out. In June 2025 he got to meet his idol, Steph Curry, when Curry visited Adare. Read that story.
He was named in an Eagles game-day squad for the first time for the home game against Griffith College Éanna at the UL Sport Arena on 17 October 2026.
