The cup last season
The Eagles won the Division One National Cup in January, beating Drogheda Wolves 83–67 at the National Basketball Arena in Tallaght. Ryan Leonard was the MVP of the final with 24 points. Read the report from that day. This season the Eagles are in the Super League, so this is a new cup and a new challenge.
How the Eagles come into it
The Eagles have won four of their six league games. They lost 90–77 away to UCD Marian last Saturday after leading late in the third quarter. Leonard had 17 points, nine assists and six rebounds. Read the UCD report.
Before that the Eagles beat Sligo All-Stars 96–65 at the UL Sport Arena, with 32 points from Alex Carlisle.
How Killester come into it
Killester have won three and lost three in the league. They beat EJ Sligo All-Stars, UCD Marian and St Vincent's in their first three games. Their last three have all been close defeats: 68–65 at Garvey's Tralee Warriors, 84–79 at home to Ballincollig and 90–84 at home to Energywise Ireland Neptune on Sunday.
This is the first time the two sides have met this season, and it will not be the last.
Killester again, a week later
The Eagles and Killester play again on Saturday 14 November at 7pm, this time in the league at St Munchin's College. That is our next home game, and tickets are on sale now.
