How the Eagles have started

The Eagles have won all three of their games. They beat St Vincent's 117–78 in Glasnevin, the champions Ballincollig 96–67 at St Munchin's College, and Griffith College Éanna 120–90 at the UL Sport Arena last Saturday.

Aaron Rhooms scored 31 points against Éanna, with six steals, and six Eagles reached double figures. Darragh Horkan ended the first quarter with a shot from three-quarters of the way down the court. Read the Éanna report, with the highlights, the box score and a photo gallery.

Before Sligo, the Eagles play Limerick Celtics on Friday 23 October at 7.30pm, also at the UL Sport Arena.

How Sligo have started

EJ Sligo All-Stars have one win from three. They lost 74–70 away to Killester on the opening night. They were 19 points down after three quarters, then won the last quarter 26–11. They beat UCC Demons 100–88 at home, then lost 75–67 to Limerick Celtics last Saturday.

Their American guard Miles Brown has averaged 22.5 points in his two games, with 27 against UCC Demons. Liam Murphy, a 6'8" forward who played Division One college basketball at North Florida, scored 22 at Killester. Centre Albright Obode had 16 points and 12 rebounds in the same game.

Sligo play St Vincent's at home on the Saturday night, so Sunday is the second game of their weekend as well.

Thank you, and bring a crowd

Thank you to everyone who came out for the Éanna game. The noise at the UL Sport Arena was brilliant, and the players felt it. Sunday is an afternoon game, which makes it a good one for families. Bring the kids, bring a friend and make some noise.

Doors open 45 minutes before tip-off and parking is free. Everything else you need is on our Plan Your Visit page, and you can meet the squad before Sunday.

The two sides meet again on Saturday 20 February at Mercy College, Sligo. The full 2026-27 fixture list is here.
